Our humble venture commenced with the aroma of freshly baked donuts, each selling for a mere R1, a tantalizing price that drew throngs of eager customers.

As time unfurled its tapestry, my culinary creativity soared. Not long after the donuts made their sweet debut, my renowned biscuits took center stage. These delectable treats, born somewhere in the depths of the enigmatic late 80s or early 90s, garnered a cult-like following.

With the dawn of the second year, a fiery determination led me to craft my very own line of chili sauces and pickles, infusing our offerings with a fiery flair. And what a transformation it was! Our trajectory, like a shooting star across the night sky, witnessed breathtaking advancements. From securing the coveted Kenwood mixer, a thoughtful gift from my husband that alleviated countless hours of toil, to the acquisition of a colossal freezer to house our butter treasures bought in bulk – every step was a leap towards grandeur.

Then, against all odds, came the dream we dared to dream – our company bakkie, a symbol of triumph over obstacles and an embodiment of aspirations realized. It was a quest that seemed daunting, but serendipity had its role to play, and it was my husband who unearthed this vehicular gem, an emblem of our dedication.

Now, as we stand on the precipice of our third anniversary, the crescendo of our journey crescendos in an exhilarating revelation. A thrill courses through us as we proudly announce the birth of “Jakes Bakes Coffee Shop,” slated to grace the world on the 1st of September. With every heartbeat echoing “grace” and “miracle,” it’s evident that divine intervention has remained steadfastly at our side.
